Usage

Ferrocene is used as energy efficient agent, smoke suppressant and antiknock component in gasoline. During replacing toxic tetraethyl lead, ferrocene can be used as an antiknock additive to produce ultimate gasoline.

It can also be used as a catalyst for ammonia synthesis and as a rubber hardener.

In addition, it is also applied as a radiation absorber, heat stabilizer, photo stabilizer and smoke inhibitor.

In addition, it also can be used as radiation absorber, heat stabilizer, photostabilizer and smoke retarding agent.

Ferrocene is also used as a precursor for the synthesis of other derivatives (mainly organic) of ferrocene.

Ferrocene and its derivatives are used in pyrotechnics as highly efficient catalysts for the decomposition of ammonium perchlorate in solid propellants.
